Must have whsn drilling metal.
Very useful tool - and time saving when drilling would be nice if it has some additional functionalities like scratch marker or replaceable head - but for this price its perfect, does its job the way expected.

Couldn't punch it's way out of a paper bag
Bought this as I had mislaid the one I already have.
I needed an indent on some thinnish aluminium tubing to stop the drill slipping. the auto centre punch was supposed to save me time, as I wouldn't need to keep reaching for a hammer and centre punch.
To cut a long story short I would have been better off using an old nail as a centre punch, as this auto centre punch would have been better as a scriber, the indent was hardly visible, let alone usable, plus by the 10th attempt it didn't work at all, even at the highest setting.
This is the second lot of tools I have had that are sold by Silverline, the last lot was a set of metal files, they didn't file metal, and would have probably been better for filing finger nails.
They only get one star as we are not allowed to award no stars for an item.

Very useful gadget.
I have used this loads since buying it. It seems robust and leaves a nice deep mark on timber and aluminium, haven't tried it on steel.

Good tool
I’ve used it on wood and mild steel and it indents enough to give a positive drill point. For the price you can’t ask for much more.
