The ends had slightly too much plastic shroud around them, meaning initially they did not make connection to the lamp. They probably need filing down a tiny bit.

LED Halogen Replacement purchase .
Bought this to replace Halogen 500w bulb it appears to be slightly longer than original as was more difficult to fit but did fit with a little effort pleased with this item and a good price . Excellent service click and collect .

Finding 118mm LED alternatives
We have 8 uplighters using 118mm halogen bulbs connected to a dimmer. I tried a few different LED alternatives but they all buzzed and flickered using the dimmer. So we went for this low wattage LED light and turned the dimmer on full. Works well. Light is a bit white compared with halogen but acceptable.
